We take child protection extremely seriously at our school. If you have a concern, you can speak to any of the school’s designated and trained Child Protection officers:

Parent and Family Support Advisor (PFSA)

Mrs Caddick- We all understand that parents and carers have the hardest job ever and we can all find ourselves needing some help and support from time to time. I’m Lorraine Caddick and I’m the Parent Family Support Advisor (PFSA) here at Oakhill Church School and Nursery. I am here as a link between home and school, to support you and your child with any worries or concerns, however big or small you may have. If you would like to talk to someone in confidence, you can call or email the school office to speak with me or via your child’s class teacher and I will respond as soon as possible.

Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA)

ELSA
Mrs Phillips – I support children across the school as an ELSA, offering a calm, nurturing space where they can explore their feelings and build confidence, resilience and emotional skills. I work with pupils individually or in small groups, and my roles as a Teaching Assistant and lunchtime supervisor help me understand their day-to-day experiences in class and on the playground. This means I can build strong relationships and support children socially, emotionally and academically throughout the whole school day.
Visiting or joining our school
A member of the office staff ensures that the school gates are kept locked during the school day, so all visitors are asked to report to the main entrance. Please be mindful that for everybody’s safety, identification procedures will be carried out; a copy of which are displayed by the office for your information.
All members of staff are vetted against national safeguarding procedures before being allowed to work in school. At least one member of every interview panel has undertaken safer recruitment training to ensure that best practices and all necessary checks are carried out.
